The Challenge

Staples Canada had aggressive business goals to support the launch of the new site and looked to Octopus Ink to provide a solution. Working closely with the Staples Canada marketing team, we were able to develop a digital media strategy that would not only deliver on their goals but also enabled Staples to compete against its aggressive competition in the digital retail space.

We developed a digital strategy that would look at a single consumer across all touch points online and align with offline channels and provide messaging specific to where they were in their purchase journey. In addition to the Octopus Ink media team developing the strategy, we also led the key partner selection and partnership road map to deliver business results and insights for the overall Staples business.

The strategy allowed Staples to exceed digital KPIs and continue to innovate in the digital space as a result of the immediate success. We increased overall efficiency in the digital space and optimized ROAS to extend their budget to support new tactics that can help reach a whole new set of consumers for the brand.
